ServeGod has called Christians to join in building the kingdom of God on earth; helping all of God’s children experience righteousness and justice, peace and joy, forgiveness and love. We are working to do our part, and we need your help! Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ “ Matthew 22:37-39 At Pantops Community Church, we take these words seriously. As a church, we are active all year in ministering in hands-on ways with our local community. That might take place through a ministry of PCC or by partnering with local organizations already doing great work. Our desire is to be present in community, showing up in ways that make a difference, deepen relationships, and build a better world. We know that we can do more together than we can do apart! To engage in ministry, we partner with the BGAV and CBF in supporting field personnel and world-wide ministries. We support two mission offerings each year, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship's Global Missions Offering in the spring and the Virginia Baptist Mission Board's Alma Hunt Offering for state missions in the fall. But we do much more than just give money. Whether it's collecting non-perishables for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank or Loaves and Fishes, collecting clothing for the Central Virginia Baptist Association Clothing Center, hosting Back-to-School Night at Wilton Farm to distribute school supplies, hosting an annual meal packaging event with Rise Against Hunger, packing hygiene kits for the women at Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women...well, you get the idea, Pantops Community Church cares about our neighbors! |
